Youth counselor Silvio Yoc-Aguilar arrested after sexual assaults at San Jose school

On November 28, 2022, The San José Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) /Child Exploitation Detail (CED) responded to a residence in San José to investigate a sexual assault of a minor. Detectives interviewed the victim and she disclosed inappropriate sexual contact with the adult suspect. These alleged incidents occurred in a classroom at Hubbard Middle School. The suspect was working as a youth counselor for the organization New Hope for Youth and was assigned to Hubbard Middle School at the time of the assaults.
An arrest warrant was obtained for suspect Silvio Yoc-Aguilar for multiple counts of sexual assault.
On November 29, 2022, members of the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force/Child Exploit Detail arrested suspect Yoc-Aguilar at his residence in San José. He was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for multiple counts of sexual assault.
According to media reports, the suspect was arrested after at least 25 incidents were reported in a span from January to October of this year. Detectives believe there could be additional victims due to the suspect’s position as a person of trust at the school.
