Victims Urge DA Office to Hold the Church Officials Responsible

Mahony recently admitted to allowing more than a dozen priests to continue their ministry, despite allegations and actual knowledge of sexual abuse and misconduct of priests under his watch. Most notably, Mahony was aware of the abuses of repeat offender pedophile Father Baker.
Victim’s advocates suggest that the church has allowed and thereby encouraged this destructive environment and behavior to continue, negatively impacting the community and parishioners. Mahony has not only allowed the priests to continue their ministry, but has also allowed them to have continued interaction with minors.
