Third Grade Student in Riverside Accused of Sexually Assaulting Classmate, 2 Teachers Placed on Leave

A third grade boy has been accused of sexually assaulting a classmate at a Riverside Elementary School. Officials report that the unidentified boy assaulted his male classmate five to seven times over the course of months. The allegations came to light when other students reported the abuse to an after-school staff member.

Because the abuse is believed to have taken place in the classroom and in campus bathrooms, two teachers have been been placed on paid leave amid concerns that there was a lack of supervision in the classrooms and on campus. Parents are now wondering how this could have gone unnoticed for so long.
