Saddleback Church Youth Mentor Arrested on Suspicion of Lewd Acts with a Child

On Wednesday, May 24th, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Detail investigators arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of inappropriate conduct with at least two boys. The Saddleback Church youth mentor volunteered at the church for approximately six years, and due to his leadership role and constant access to children, there may still be more victims who have not come forward as of yet.
Ruven Meulenberg, 32, Lake Forest, was charged with three felony counts of lewd acts on a child and two felony counts of lewd acts on a child under age 14, with a sentencing enhancement for multiple victims. Bail is set at $1 million.
