The attorneys at Manly, Stewart & Finaldi have filed a lawsuit on behalf of a second victim of Father Michael Kelly, a former priest of the Diocese of Stockton in California. The victim, known in court documents as John CC Doe, alleges that he was sexually molested as a child by Father Michael Kelly. The Plaintiff states that the Diocese of Stockton knew that Father Kelly had a history of sexually abusing children, and yet not only failed to inform the police, but failed to take any actions to prevent Father Kelly from abusing more children.
This is the second lawsuit alleging that the Diocese of Stockton acted recklessly in allowing Father Kelly, a known child molester, to remain in ministry. The first lawsuit was settled by the Diocese in April of 2012.
