Debate Rages Over Stanford University Rape Case

National debate continues to rage across the country as individuals weigh the sentence handed down by Judge Aaron Persky following the guilty verdict in the trial of Brock Turner, who was accused of raping Jane Doe while she was unconscious. The case has drawn national scrutiny because despite the guilty verdict and eyewitnesses to the crime, Turner was sentenced to only six months in jail. Turner is 19 years old, Caucasians, and was a swimmer on the Stanford swim team at the time of the assault.

John Manly with Manly, Stewart & Finaldi was asked to weigh in on the case and took part in an informative and spirited debate on NPR’s AirTalk.
