While in custody, Father Alex Castillo, a convicted sex offender and a member of the clergy, denied allegations that he violated the terms of his probation by attending a party where boys under 18 years old were in attendance (Fr. Castillo’s probation conditions limit his interaction with minors unless such minors are accompanied by an adult approved by the probation department). Fr. Castillo contends that he only had “general” contact with the children present; however, the strength of this argument remains to be seen.
If found guilty of the probation violation, Fr. Castillo could face up to eight years imprisonment.
Manly, Stewart & Finaldi represents two of Fr. Castillo’s sexual abuse victims in California in a case that is currently being litigated.
