Cardinal Roger Mahony Admits to Mishandling Sexually Abusive Priest

When Father Michael Baker admitted his ongoing sexual abuse to Cardinal Mahony, Mahony decided to turn the other way. When Mahony decided to make secret settlement payments to victims and allow the pedophile priest to continue interacting with children, Mahony border-line encouraged the destructive, sick behavior.

Today, finally, Mahony has acknowledged and taken responsibility for the mishandling of the abuse. This does not undo the decades of abuses that were allowed to continue, nor does it even come close to helping repair the damaged lives of the hundreds of children who were abused and raped under his watch.
