Another Catholic Priest Convicted of Abuse: Father Lopez Sentenced to 6 Years

Despite support from parishioners, Fr. Lopez was convicted of molesting of three young males during his time at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

During sentencing, one of the victims of the priest’s abuse spoke about the consequences of the priests abuse and said “He killed my faith. I’ll never by the same.”

This is one of many instances in which a Priest has been convicted of abuse. The Catholic Church often denies knowledge of such abuse within its ranks.
