J. Michael Reck

Michael’s current practice emphasizes all areas of commercial and residential real estate and also includes the defense and resolution of white collar criminal and administrative matters. Michael is uniquely able to successfully protect his clients’ reputations and resolve these matters with discretion and reliance upon the latest forensic technology. Michael’s litigation experience includes successful trials and verdicts for both plaintiff and defense in state and federal courts. Additionally, Michael advocates on behalf of victims of sexual abuse. His materials and opinions have appeared in numerous publications including law reviews, newspapers and magazines.

Raised in coastal southern California, Michael attended the University of California at Irvine where he earned a bachelors of science degree cum laude in biology with an emphasis in ecology and environmental biology. Michael was awarded his Juris Doctorate cum laude from Whittier Law School where he authored a published article entitled “A Community with no Conscience: the Further Reduction of a Juror’s Right to Nullify in California vs. Sanchez.” Michael was a member of the Law Review.

Prior to joining Manly & Stewart, Michael practiced with the law firm of Wallin & Klarich where he successfully honed a trial-oriented defense practice. Additionally, Michael worked at the hearing board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District, an administrative agency responsible for air quality enforcement and regulation in California.

He is currently admitted to the State Bar of California, the State Bar of New York, the State Bar of Texas, and the United States Supreme Court.
