Five new Oliver O'Grady Lawsuits

FIVE new lawsuits against a Limerick paedophile priest are pending from a legal firm in the United States, which is considering hiring a private detective to track him down.
Defrocked priest Oliver O'Grady, 62, returned to live in the Mid-West in 2001, after being deported from the United States, where he was convicted on four counts of lewd and lascivious acts on two males.

The law firm Manly, McGuire and Stewart in California now has enough evidence to proceed with more civil actions against him. Two further victims have come forward alleging that Mr O'Grady assaulted them when they were a...

Wilmington Diocese sued by man claiming abuse by Fr. Vignola

Another law suit names the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington as a defendant, claiming officials covered up the sexual abuse of a child by a parish priest.

WDEL's Carl Kanefsky has the story.

Supporters of sexual abuse survivors held a small vigil outside of the Cathedral of St. Peter in Wilmington Thursday morning, shortly after a lawsuit had been filed on behalf of Robert Kohr, a man claiming he was repeatedly abused by the late Father Carmen Vignola.

Michael Reck, an attorney representing Kohr says the abuse began in the 1980s when Kohr was 14 years old.
