More sexual abuse suits filed against former Bishop Verot High School employee

Two more sexual abuse lawsuits were filed in Delaware courts Thursday against a former Bishop Verot High School activities director.

The suits share similar allegations against the Rev. Dennis Killion from when Killion worked at a Delware Catholic high school in the 1980s, and raise the total claims against Killion to 10.

There have been no allegations against Killion from the two years he spent in Fort Myers at Bishop Verot. He was reassigned for unrelated reasons in June 2008.

Defendant lies, is not sanctioned

A Costa Mesa man accused of molesting a boy in his Newport Beach church lied during his sworn deposition with lawyers, the judge in the case acknowledged Friday.

The judge, however, told attorneys during the morning hearing that the defendant’s dishonesty wasn’t enough to merit sanctions against the man’s case in any future trial.

The plaintiff’s attorney, Vince Finaldi, requested that video evidence showing Todd C. Summers removing items from his house a day before it was searched and nine hours before he testified be considered damning evidence for Summers’ case....
