Paul Sievers

Paul Sievers’ legal practice specializes in insurance coverage analysis and disputes, bankruptcy law, creditors’ remedies, and real estate disputes. He has represented both small and large companies, as well as individuals, in a large variety of commercial disputes, including policyholders in actions for the recovery of policy benefit, creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, corporate officers and directors in actions for breach of fiduciary duty, the enforcement of creditors’ rights under commercial or real estate lending and credit agreements, and the enforcement of judgments and debts. Paul has also represented companies and individuals sued by bankruptcy trustees in preference or fraudulent transfer litigation. He has developed an expertise in disputes involving the interplay between insurance coverage and bankruptcy law. Paul is also an authority on the scope, creation and enforceability of possessory liens in a variety of commercial contexts.

He joined Manly, McGuire and Stewart after 15 years with Rutan & Tucker, LLP, where he was a partner. He earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Irvine and his juris doctor at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles with honors and as a member of the Order of the Coif. Paul also earned a master’s in public administration at the University of Southern California.

Paul is a successful speaker and legal educator, addressing the National Business Institute on issues of insurance law and serving as an instructor for the Orange County and California Bar Associations in their commercial, insurance and discovery continuing education practice areas. Paul is a former Chairperson of the Insurance Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association.
